WildAx is displaying its first ever conversion of a standard Ford Transit on its stand at the October NEC Motorhome Show, while all other new 2025 models show the results of the most significant refresh the van converter has run in the past five years.

The 5.99m-long Meteor is a rear lounge two-berth with settees that can work as 1.91m single beds or can be converted into a similar length double. It also comes with a 160W solar panel and a 100-litre fresh and 80-litre waste water tank.

The vehicle is also on show as a gas-free model with a “Volt pack” featuring a 3kw inverter, an 80A DC-DC supercharger, a two-ring induction hob and two 160W solar panels. This pack is also available on most Fiat-based models.

This season the campervan converter has updated its entire so that you now get lithium batteries as standard. WildAx’s signature tambour lockers doors have been replaced by lightweight wooden doors, while kitchens come with acrylic splashblacks and black taps. Carpets are lighter, with new vinyl flooring underneath, and blinds have aluminium frames, while new “hidden” LED lighting bars have been introduced along with dimmable spotlights with built in USB ports

Contrast colour panels have been introduced in areas like the underseat bulkhead and the washroom wall, while a 2025 upholstery option features softer and brighter fabrics, particularly on scatter cushions.

On the outside you get new R5000 windows with a curved radius, and WildAx branding on the front grille of Fiat-based models.

Despite the changes, 2025 prices on continuing models have only risen by around £750 on average.

WildAx is not the only converter to be offering gas-free ‘vans, with Vantage displaying its Ora-F-Line model which can come with a number of extras to make it gas-free. Another new model to be making its debut is the Mobilvetta Admiral – the two-berth ‘van can be seen on the Marquis Leisure stand and has underfloor and underseat storage, 16″ alloy wheels and a fitted solar panel.
