Plenty of dealers have gone down the route of selling bespoke camper conversions based on VW’s Transporter – easily the fastest-growing sector of the market in recent years. Few have embraced it as wholeheartedly as Venture Caravans.

From its base near Daventry, Northamptonshire, the firm has invested heavily in a manufacturing set-up producing a range of VW- and Ford Transit Custom-based campers under its Redline brand. These are two popular base vehicles and feature in our best van for converting into a camper guide.

Venture Caravans has NCC Approved Motorhome Manufacturer status, is an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer and has been audited for Type Approval through the GB Small Series scheme.

As Venture director Mark Turley explains: “We consider all this essential. Under the NCC scheme, Redline Campers will be manufactured to the same high standards and guidelines issued by the NCC that the major UK motorhome makers adhere to. The scheme includes independent audits and quality control checks. This is often a prerequisite that motor manufacturers require to grant approval to a conversion company.”

The Redline range comprises four models in short- and long-wheelbase configurations – Sport, Sport XS, Sport+ and Trekker (not to be confused with the Swift Trekker range).

The Redline website has a configurator, so you can mix and match all manner of colour schemes.
