The winners of the Certificated Location of the Year 2024 Awards have been announced by the Caravan and Motorhome Club (CAMC).
Certificated Locations (CLs) are five-pitch sites which are privately owned and are solely for CAMC members. Typically found in more remote locations, they can make the best motorhome sites for those who want to get away from the stresses of every day life and instead pitch up in beautiful and peaceful surroundings.
The title of Overall CL Winner went to Brambles in Anglesey (pictured above), a site which was also named the Best CL in Wales. The hallmarks of the best adults only motorhome sites in the UK are peaceful surroundings with plenty to do in the area, and that is the case at this CL, which is well-placed for enjoying a trip to the beach or embarking on a picturesque walk around the site’s three ponds and trees, where various wildlife can be found.
Another winner was Drake House Farm in Lancashire, which took the title of Best CL in England North. The CL sits in Ribble Valley, a mere three miles from Clitheroe, and is a great setting for dog walks and enjoying the beauty of the surrounding area.
Goodleigh Hill in Worcestershire was named best CL in England South. Another dog friendly site, it provides visitors with beautiful views and is well situated for exploring nearby Pershore and the Malvern Hills.
Aberdeenshire’s Fairbank Park took the title of Best CL in Scotland and Northern Ireland, a site which sits within Cairngorms National Park in Royal Deeside. Extending for five-acres, it offers van owners spacious hardstanding pitches with electric hook up and fresh water. There will be plenty to keep everyone occupied too, with walking and cycling routes, as well as the 3,000ft high Munros in the vicinity.
Taking the title of Best Newcomer is The Courts, an Essex-based site found in Little Baddow. Whether guests want to take to the water, enjoy a walk in woodland, or head to the city of Chelmsford, this tranquil base delivers.
The last category went to Birch Hill in Shropshire, which took the Sustainability Award. The site was founded over 40 years ago, and has seen its environmental efforts recognised thanks to its Dark Skies initiatives, the way it promotes formaldehyde-free chemicals and its use of both renewable energy and water consumption controls.
