Having just returned from a restorative trip to Pembrokeshire and the Gower Peninsula, I should be thinking about all the beautiful beaches, fab sites and great weather that I enjoyed. I am, of course, but I also can’t help thinking about the gear that would have made my stay even better. It was my first time away in a motorhome, having only stayed in campervans previously, and I didn’t know exactly what to expect. Although I was comfortable enough, there were definitely some things missing that could have made my stay even more relaxing. With my new status as a bonafide motorhomer, these are the products that I can confidently say are essentials for any motorhome tour – and they’re all in the Prime Day sale!

Jackery Explorer 100 Plus was £139.99 now £89
- Weight: 965g
- Output: 128W
Although we were hooked-up on our site, we spent a lot of time on the go. Something like this amazing little Jackery Explorer 100 Plus would have been ideal for charging our phones and laptops when not pitched up, and especially for taking with us on hikes and to the beach. It’s super lightweight and packs a real punch for something that’s handheld and so portable. You can charge up to 3 devices at once via USB-A and -C ports while the digital display lets you know the battery status. It even features a solar panel as well as a USB for recharging.
Ever Advanced Camping Chairs (Set of 2) was £90.00 now £77.34
- Dimensions: 80D x 60W x 109H cm
- Weight: 3.9kg
- Capacity: 160kg
Something to relax in when spending time on our pitch was maybe the most apparent absence from our touring kit. I’m a real lounger so I definitely would have opted for something like these Ever Advanced chairs which you can sink into. These chairs offer a spacious 60x60cm seat and a comfortable high back, supported by a steel frame with reinforced load-bearing blocks. One of the sturdy armrests features an integrated cup holder and each chair has a storage compartment which is great for books and mobile phones.
Black+Decker Auto Hand Vacuum was £50.46 now £37.99
- Weight: 1.53kg
- Voltage: 12V
By the time we came to clean out the motorhome at the end of the trip, it took longer than expected. Dirt and dust seemed to have accumulated even when we tidied as we went, so I really felt the lack of a vacuum cleaner. A hand-held unit like this one would have been perfect for the floor and seating areas. It features a 5m cable and a pivoting nose for hard-to-reach places, along with a 440ml dust bowl and a brush attachment.
Kindle was £94.99 now £74.99
- Weight: 158g
- Dimensions: 157.8 x 108.6 x 8.0 mm
I always optimistically pack a few books when going on holiday and rarely make it through one. Rather than bulking up my bags with paperbacks, I think I’ll invest in a Kindle next time. This 16 GB model can store thousands of books and can last weeks on a single charge. The 6 inch, paper-like display is glare free and features adjustable lighting modes making it perfect for reading outside or in dim lighting. It’s super slim and compact so it’s great for taking anywhere or just cosying up in bed.
Kitchen utensil set was £14.59 now £12.39
I actually bought this set as a Christmas present for my parents (they’re easily please) to use in their campervan, and they love it. I found that less was more when it came to our motorhome kitchen, which is why this 6 piece set is perfect. Including a grater, grinder, pizza cutter, bottle opener, peeler and paring knife, the nifty set can be stacked together on the locking ring or used separately. Each piece is made from durable ABS plastic and stainless steel and it all comes in a handy little storage bag.
Storage nets
- Dimensions: 35.5cm x 18.5cm
This might seem like a slightly dull (or even obvious) one, but I found that I was scrambling for storage when trying to keep everything tidy. Something like this set which includes 4 nets, 4 hooks and 20 screws would be a great solution, since you can affix them wherever you need them most. The nets feature an elasticated edge to keep things secure and would work well in the kitchen, bedroom or bathroom.
