Prime Day is a great opportunity to buy the latest motorhome accessories such as a sat nav, but that doesn’t mean other retailers don’t have unmissable offers on too. One I’ve spotted is for the Garmin Camper 795, which is available at Halfords for only £299.99 at the moment – an excellent £90 saving.

Garmin Camper 795 was £389.99 now £299.99
You may recognise it from the Practical Motorhome Awards 2024, where it was our pick of the ‘van sat navs for the 2024 season. The judging panel (which I’m a member of), loved how it can make the drive an enjoyable part of the touring experience, not only ensuring your ‘van’s dimensions are taken into account and offering warnings of awkward curves or grades, but also providing suggestions for a more picturesque route.
There’s also BirdsEye Satellite Imagery, a clever feature which allows you to see an aerial shot of your campsite before you arrive, so you can plan out your arrival. Other features include Michelin GreenGuide, the option of downloading the Garmin Drive app for hands-free calling and text alerts, and warnings of upcoming Environmental Zones.

TomTom Go Camper Max was £299.00 now £254.99
While the Garmin Camper 795 isn’t on offer on Amazon over Prime Day, I have spotted there is currently a 15% saving to be had on the TomTom Go Camper Max. The second generation model offers a 7-inch display and is currently available for only £254.99. A new feature is the ‘avoid LEZ’ mode, which will ensure you steer clear of low-emission zones when you’re on your way to the campsite, while the gadget also allows you to input your vehicle’s dimensions to avoid narrow roads or similar obstacles.
If you’re still in two minds about whether to get one or not, it could be worth finding out exactly “what is a sat nav?” – it may help you decide whether it’s worth buying one.
