Chausson is bringing out a new model in its “S” range for 2025, and has substantially upgraded the look of its “X” crossover models.
The S695 Sport Line features the same front dinette as the similar length S697 with twin beds.
But at the back it does a twist on a classic motorhome layout with a French bed whose bottom section lifts up to reveal a substantial hanging wardrobe, with a dressing space immediately outside it. You also access the bed via steps rather than a ladder.
The side washroom features a partition that swings around to reveal a shower. Right at the back there is a garage large enough to take two bikes.
The X range, which includes the X550 and the award-winning motorhome the X650, the best low-profile motorhome at the Practical Motorhome Awards 2024, now comes with silver side panels featuring heavy “X” branding and a silver rear panel with a LED light stretching across the width of the van.
On the inside you have a choice of three different furniture finishes. These include Ambiance Lloyd, a new look featuring smoked green cupboards and locker doors. Then there is Ambiance Eames, with mid-grey upholstery and ivory locker doors, and Ambiance Alto, with darker grey upholstery and grey locker doors.
The 660 standard low-profile model has had its layout slightly altered. The Ford-based family motorhome, which features a long L-shaped settee in front of a TV in the front lounge and has a second door you can use to access the garage from the outside, has had its side washroom enlarged. It now incorporates a swinging partition which reveals a shower. The motorhome no longer has a second habitation door.
The new vans are being launched at the same time as Chausson’s rival Rapido has increased the number of Mercedes Sprinter-based vans in its line-up.
