AWS (Approved Workshop Scheme) announced the winners of its Workshop of the Year awards at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show at the NEC on Tuesday 13 February.
Congratulations to Lee Fitzgerald from Tourer Techs and Jamie Bell of JB Caravan Trailer and Services who respectively won the Fixed workshop and Mobile workshop awards and a prize of £500 each from sponsor Engineer Insurance & Aftercare.
This is the third consecutive year that AWS has run the awards, which are held to recognise the efforts of the people and business in the scheme.
Fixed workshop award winner Lee is the managing director at Tourer Techs, which is based at East Brent in Somerset. He said: “It’s an honour to this award which is for all the team and it’s good to make people aware of what we do and what the AWS is.”
The Approved Workshop Scheme is a joint enterprise between the NCC (National Caravan Council), The Caravan and Motorhome Club and The Camping and Caravanning Club. It is supported by the major manufacturers and is the UK’s largest group of independently assessed workshops for motorhome and touring caravan servicing.
Approved Workshop Scheme Manager Reece Wigmore, said: “We hold the awards to highlight the work of our 570 excellent fixed and mobile workshops. The winners are exceptional and show the excellent work our members do.”
Mobile workshop award winner Jamie Bell works alongside his wife Jane. The husband and wife team run JB Caravan Trailer and Services (covering the West Midlands) together, offering servicing and repair of caravans and motorhomes, including habitation, and mobile trailers. Jamie said: “We are really proud of what we do and of winning the award.”
As well as announcing the winners of the Workshop of the Year, visitors to the Show have got to see the new City Camp campervan on the Dreamer stand, while we also caught up with CAMC ambassador Annabel Croft.
