Van converter Autohaus is showing off two new models on its stand at the October NEC Show that are definitely worth a detour.

The show is a great opportunity to see the latest releases from the best campervan conversion companies in the UK, as the Autohaus stand shows. The Camelot C600 is partly the result of the Somerset-based company’s belief that the 6.84m long VW Crafter is too long to be an effective campervan.

Instead, the new vehicle, built on the medium wheelbase, 5.96m-long VWCR35 model. It still comes with a rear lounge with a pedestal table and a front dinette with a clip-on table, together with a rising roof containing a double bed.

The vehicle is the first the company has designed entirely using CAD. As a result, it includes a number of innovations, including a double bed that folds down over the rear lounge without the need to lower the pedestal table, while the side kitchen includes both an extension and a table which folds out on the outside. The washroom also includes both a shower and a small permanent basin.

The floor and cab mats are made of cork, while all wood used is sustainably sourced bamboo.

The NCC-approved vehicle is also gas-free, so comes with a two-burner induction hob, a microwave, a 290W solar panel, and a 160Ah 3000W inverter with LED lighting throughout.

Prices start at £91,000, although the model on display comes to £104,995 with extras.

The company’s Spartan model, meanwhile, has now been revamped and runs on a SWB (5.05m-long) Ford Tourneo with three seats on the rear bench. A 170PS engine with automatic transmission comes as standard, while you get a Reimo rising roof with a Reimo sprung roof bed with two LED strip lights.

As with the Camelot, you get induction hobs, a 160Ah 3000w inverter and a 290W solar panel. You also get a 300-litre underslung water tank and Webasto diesel heating.

Prices start at £69,995, while the model on show costs £82,500.

Another converter, Redline, is showcasing its adaptable GT ‘van at the October NEC Show, a model which is designed for both the new Ford Transit Custom and the VW T7. The Coachman Duro is also making its debut, a rugged 4×4 campervan that is ideal for off-road adventures.
